a charmed poem
candles i have lit
chants i have spoken
your name i have written
paper i have burned
ashes i have kept
yet the message still unsent.
basically, the poem narrates how a love spell is done. we have the essentials - paper, candles, name of your kaawa-awang victim, and a chant, of course.ok, it's mushy. the words are freaking simple and ambiguous. but please dont just try to read it on the surface. feel.
i dont know if the heaviness, the sad feeling the poem carries is clearly communicated.. the first few lines seem mere narration of a love spell. but the last line,i guess, says most of the message. the persona is helpless for 'magic' cant even 'send the message' - which is obviously, since it is a love spell, a a message of love or maybe probably of a mere wanting to be noticed. the persona is desperate to have that person even as a friend.
i know this is quite not a good thing in poetry associating the author and the persona. but im telling you, the persona is I.
the ashes are now gone. the message is still unsent. and the persona is hurting and crying.
{shet,i write crap. hehe. im not gonna make this a public blog. }
